Anambra Community Confers Chieftaincy Titles Students, young Author, others



www.odogwublog.com reports that Umuawulu in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State has set a new record by being the first community
to grant a chieftaincy to students and youths who have done the state and community proud.

Traditional Ruler of the town, HRH Igwe Maduadichie Egwuonwu (Ezeudo) who conferred the Chieftaincy titles and recognitions to illustrious sons and daughters of the town including an award winning Author, Mr. Uchenna Nze; a, student Miss Sandra Obianuju Anazor, the distinction award winner of 2012 WAEC and NECO examinations (with 8”A”s and 1”B”); another student Miss Ezue Chinenye Cynthia (first Class graduate of Computer Science at Anambra State University, Uli in 2012), said their feats are motivational.

Others who were conferred with titles were the Majority Leader, Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Harford Ikechukwu Oseke; a Philanthropist, Chief Azubike Ekweozor; Chief Dr. Okwudili Ezenwankwo, the President General of South East Amalgamated Traders Association of Nigeria (SEAMATA); Chief Chidi Nwafor INEC Director of ICT, among others.

Igwe Egwuonwu pledged to serve the community with fear of God in order to ensure that love, peace, unity and progress reign, even as he called for the supports of his subjects towards achieving their desired goals.

In a similar vein, the community used the medium to eulogize and endorse Hon. Harford Oseke, the Member representing Awka South 2 State Constituency in the state Assembly, who doubles as a candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA)  for the House of Assembly election, for second tenure.

Speaking on behalf of other award recipients, Hon. Harford Oseke (Ebekuedike Umuawulu), assured the community and his entire constituency quality representation if elected again, and vowed to attract more state government presence to the area.

Hon. Oseke, who prayed God to shower the Royal Majesty with wisdom, long life and prosperity, pledged on behalf of all the awardees, to intensify efforts towards the betterment of Umuawulu at home and abroad.

While Chief Azubike Ekweozor (Nwanayoeze Umuawulu), a cabinet member; reiterated the needs for youths to eschew violence and other vices, and join force with the government and security apparatus so as to move the country forward.

In an interview, one of the Royal Fathers who graced the auspicious occasion, HRM Igwe Dr. C.N.N Nwajagwu, the Secretary Orji-River Traditional Rulers Council and Traditional Ruler of Apkugoeze in Enugu State, charged the newly conferred title holders to serve Umuawulu in truth and honesty.

 www.odogwublog.com  reports that  Igwe Egwuonwu marked his first Ofala festival at the ceremony even as cultural dance, and masquerade display featured at the event.

Igwe Egwuonwu received his certificate of recognition and staff of office from the state government on 12th March, 2014, to replace the Late G.C Ugboamazu (Ezeudo 1 who took charge from, 1977-2000).
