Tension in Mbosi as traditional ruler sues Energy Company over invasion

www.odogwublog.bom reports that Federal High Court, Awka presided over by Justice M.L.Abubakar has granted the traditional ruler and regent of Mbosi town in Ihiala Local
Government Area of Anambra State, Prince Okoye-Joe Onuakalusi an interim injunction for himself and the entire Mbosi community restraining Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited, Mr Emmanuel Ogbuji and Engineer James Arugo from entering into the palace of the Oluoha IV of Mbosi, His Royal Highness, Igwe G.M.Onuakalusi and its surroundings.

The injunction further restrained any other National Independent Power Project unmarked property in Mbosi town to create roads or for the routing of the 330KVA power line through Mbosi community until the derermination of the motion on notice.

The court also directed that the defendants and their privies maintained status quo with respect to the route marked for the passing of the 330KVA power line through Mbosi town until the determination of the motion on notice.

The traditional ruler had alleged that the defendants had destroyed economic trees and encroached in his domain while re-routing the 330KVA power line leaving where they had earlier marked and paid compensation to owners of property on the route. He also alleged that the defendants pulled down ancient walls in his kingdom.
