www.odogwublog.com reports that Saint
Joseph The Worker Catholic Parish Adazi-Nnukwu , Anaocha local government area
venue of the thanksgiving ceremony of Reverend Sister Catherine Nkechi Pia
Okafor and memorial service of her late father was filled to the brim.
Hundreds
of guests from all walks of life gathered to celebrate with newly conferred
Reverend Sister Catherine and thank God
with her family. It was indeed grand in all ramifications.
In
his sermon, Rev. Fr. Felix Efobi who doubles as the Managing Director St Joseph’s
hospital Adazi-Nnukwu said that Christians should at all times be ready to
carry their crosses by living according to the will of God no matter the
circumstance.
To
those who preach the gospel of prosperity, he said it was the negation of the
true essence of Christianity. He said Christians must always face challenges
but that they shall always fix their gaze on Christ. He thanked all those that
have come to celebrate with Sister Okafor even as he prayed for their journey
mercies back to their various destinations.
Speaking shortly after the thanksgiving service, Rev.
Sis. Catherine Nkechi Pia Okafor expressed joy over what she described as a
dream come true. She praised the Lord whom she said saw her through her
struggles to become a Reverend Sister.
Sister Okafor belongs to a congregation known
as Trinitarian Missionaries of Merciful Love with headquarters at Ijebode,
often referred as Trinitarian sisters of merciful love.
Her
words: “I was professed on 31st
January 2015 at Micheal Iwene Tansi Parish Ijebode, there I did my first
profession. Today, I and my family members, friends and well wishes have
gathered here to celebrate the Lord who made it possible for me and for His
blessings towards my family. Again, we are also celebrating the one year
memorial service of my Late Father Mr Okafor.
Contributing,
Rev. Sis. Joy Chiamaka Ujummadu,
congratulated her young colleague, adding that Okafor is a wonderful colleague,
describingher as God fearing young lady who so much believe in God.
Her
words: “She is a wonderful colleague
whom everyone of us like staying with, just because of her jovial nature
and it is because of her that we all are here to honour her invitation. My
prayer for her is that God will see her through in her stay in this great
vocation.”
