Umueri Airport, Obiano & land grabbing policy?

Few days ago, i received a call that the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano would be flagging off the Umueri Cargo Airport link road for construction. I welcome the news with excitement and I did said "May God bless Akpokudike for me" but the caller on the other end of the line seems indifferently and cold. I wondered why a true son of umueri will sounds so unpleasant with the news.

According to the caller, there was rumor going round that Obiano wanted to rename the Airport after his community 'Aguleri'. I wanted to laugh over it but on the second thought, I remembered that there was some unverified report that the Governor had earlier set up a panel to have the airport project relocates to his home-town of Aguleri but such suggestion was resisted by well meaning Citizens of Anambra state.

So it still beats my imagination, how the Airport or the road leading to the airport, that's centrally located in Ivite Umueri shall be-called "Aguleri-Otuocha-Umueri Road" whereas the road does not connects to Aguleri & Otuocha or even transcend to the two mentioned areas. What then is in the name? Would Aguleri people be contented if the Bridge project that connect Enugu otu to Orient Oil was renamed "Umueri-Aguleri Bridge" or would they accept the Orient Oil to be called Umueri-Aguleri Orient Oil Reserves"

What then is the reasons behind this obnoxious and anti people decision to rename Ezi-Ivite Umueri Road to Aguleri -Umueri Road? Who is the man or woman advising the governor to embark on this annexation policy just to satisfy his people? Is he the Governor of Anambra State or a mere Aguleri Governor?

All well meaning Nigerians should please talk to the Governor of Anambra State to revise this decision. Most of the land that our ancestors bequeathed on us have so far been taken away from us within this One year tenure of Willy Obiano. Yet Umueri people kept faith that in 21st Century its totally unfashionable to war-war.

For the past few months threat of war that would had Umueri wiped out of the state has been here and there. Yet no Igbo personalities have asked question on these ranging problems. Would Umueri continue to live under threat that Willy has procure all sort of military warefare for his people to mess deal ruthlessly for Umueri people.

What else has we done wrong that our Neighbor whom we see as our Son, would allow himself to be misled? Why wont Umueri and Aguleri to dwell in peace and harmony and grow at their respective pace? It's still my belief that a good neighbor is one million better than a bad relatives.
