My closed-door meeting with Amaechi is personal, not political –Lamido

Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has debunked claims that his meeting with Buhari’s Campaign Director General, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, was a plan to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for All Progressives Congress (APC).

Lamido added: “I will never dump PDP for any party.”

Lamido made the statement yesterday while addressing thousands of PDP supporters during the campaign rally held at Kaugama Local Government Area of the state.

He said: “The opposition APC presidential campaign Director General, Amaechi, is my political friend and we met and discussed the national interest which is above political interest.

“People are speculating that I am planning to dump PDP, others said I have joined APC, this and that. All are not true, I will never dump PDP.”
