Late Dim Ojukwu bags Post-Humous Doctorate degree from Anambra Varsity

The late supreme leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dim Chukwuemeka  Odumegwu Ojukwu is to receive a post humous doctorate degree from the Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegbwu Ojukwu University.

This recognition is in view of his vast contributions to national development and administrative competence and ingenuity.

The vice Chancellor of the Anambra State owned university Professor Fidelis Okafor stated this in a press briefing in Ukwulu, Dunukofia local government area.

He said the honour will be conferred on the late Ikemba of Nnewi on the 6^th of March 2015 during the university’s convocation ceremony.

According to Professor Okafor, the institution will hold its convocation lecture at the Igbariam Campus of the university on the 5^th of March 2015 to be followed by the convocation on the 6^th of March 2015 also at the Igbariam Campus.

During the convocation ceremony according to the Vice Chancellor post humous awards will be issued to Nigerians who distinguished themselves but were not alive while other classes of degrees will be awarded too.

It will be recalled that Professor Okafor an astute administrator has raised the standard of the university to an international standard and is loved by the staff and students of the institution.

In a related development, the former dean faculty of Agriculture Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka Campus, Professor Nonso Nnabuife said staff welfare and university administration under Professor Okafor the vice chancellor of COOU are result oriented and encouraged him to sustain the tempo.

Professor Nnabuife commended the Anambra State government for coming to the rescue of the university financially but called for increased subvention to the institution to enable it sustain its socio-infrastructural development.
