Breaking News: INEC Staff in Awka besieged as over 5,000 youths protest multiple candidates

Hundreds of youths from the 21 local government area of Anambra state this afternoon hit the streets in protest of the PDP's multiple candidates.

The youths this afternoon gave the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) 48 hours to say who the authentic candidates of PDP are or face an unprecedented protest in Anambra .

Sir,

ANAMBRA YOUTHS SAY NO TO PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY, (PDP) MULTIPLE
CANDIDACIES FOR 2015 ELECTION.

We, the patriotic Youths of Anambra State, Nigeria having watched with
great displeasure and sadness the continued lawless fielding of
multiple candidates in each of the elective positions being contested
in Anambra State by the Peoples Democratic Party, POP in total
disregard of all Laws of the land with effective collaboration with
INEC, Police and other Law Enforcement Agencies, we have now decided
to say Enough is Enough! This rape on democracy must stop now.

The INEC Laws, the Electoral Act and the Constitution of Nigeria makes
it sacrosanct that all political parties MUST field only one candidate
to contest each Elective Post. The law permits only those recognized,
but since 2011 the POP has continually flouted these laws in Anambra
State with impunity showing bad example to the youths with the active
connivance of your institution, INEC, Nigerian Police and other
Security Agencies, who have either looked the other way or protected
these criminals during campaigns and elections. This is a grievous
crime, fraudulent and day light robbery!

Does it mean that POP is ABOVE the law? Or that INEC has been bought
over or Security Agencies Compromised? The campaign is for those whose
names are published by INEC to campaign for the election not those
disgruntled elements, floating balloons who are claiming to be
candidates of POP and deceiving the masses.

For instances, in Anambra North Senatorial Zone, Senator Margery,
Okadigbo, Princess Stella Oduah and Prince John Emeka are each
seriously campaigning as Senatorial candidate of PDF in Anambra North
likewise three "candidates" of PDF are contesting in each of the
Federal and State Houses of Assembly seat in Anambra North Senatorial
Zone, even in Anambra East & West Federal Constituency we have four
POP people masquerading and campaigning as candidates including Hon.
Tony Nwoye, Barr. Ernest Nwoye, Barr. Ejike Nwene and Mr. Chizoba
Nnaluo among others.

In Anambra Central Senatorial Zones we have Senator Annie Okonkwo,
Barr. Sylvester Okonkwo, Hon. lyom Uche Ekwunife and Dr. Obiora
Okonkwo all masquerading and campaigning as candidate of POP for
Senate, same goes for the Federal House and State Houses of Assembly.
In same vein, Senator Andy Ubah, Chief Chris Uba and Hon. Chief Chuma
Nzeribe are each parading himself as the Senatorial candidate of PDP
in Anambra South Senatorial Zone together with three others each in
House of Representative and State Houses of Assembly seats in Anambra
South Senatorial Zone.

Consequent upon the above illegalities and conveniences, we the Youths
of Anambra State condemn in its entirely the statement and tacit
support issued by the PDP National Secretary that all these illegal
and criminal candidates should continue their campaigns. This shows
that the leadership of the party has designed this unlawful strategy
to gain criminals advantage over other parties. What a shameful fraud?

The patriotic Nigeria's we Anambra Youths have strongly resolved as
follows:-
(1)    That we are given INEC 48hrs to state clearly how are the
authentic PDP candidates in Anambra State and formally announce same
in all the News Media in Anambra State.
(2)    That INEC should within 48hrs stop the campaign of all illegal
candidates from campaign both in the Media and all public places.
(3)    That INEC should within 48hrs direct all security agencies to stop
these illegal and multiple candidates from all forms of electioneering
campaigns.
(4)    That INEC should within 48hrs of this notice direct all concerned
law enforcement agencies to remove all posters, billboards and other
campaign materials of these illegal candidates from public places.

Finally, failure of INEC, Police and all concerned Law Enforcements
Agencies and even the Government of Anambra State to fully comply with
these lawful demands of Anambra Youths, we shall be left with no other
option than to emulate them by taking laws into our hands and ensure
that no election takes place in Anambra State with these criminality
and illegality. Although our dear Governor, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano
has appealed, directed, and convinced us to vote massively for Dr.
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, we shall not allow our laws and
constitution to be trampled upon by these desperadoes, INEC and other
collaborators in order to secure our future.
