It was terrific today for the Billionaire transporter, Chief G.U.O Okeke of the GUO Okeke Group of company’s fame.  His workshop was gutted by a mysterious fire wasting property and vehicles worth over one hundred of million.

There was no loss of lives but five people were hospitalized as a result of  various wounds sustained fighting the inferno and suffocation sequel to heavy smoke that they could not withstand.                       
The fire which started at about 5pm on Sunday evening 4th January 2015 completely burnt seven luxurious busses, 6 mini busses and other buses in the workshop were partially burnt.

www.odogwublog.com  correspondent who visited the workshop at Onitsha Enugu Expressway section of Ogbunike in Anambra state reports that the inferno was a disaster and incurred a huge loss to Chief G.U.O Okeke . The fire raged for more than eight hours.

Conducting newsmen round the workshop, the Public Relation Officer of G.U.O Okeke Group of companies Dr. Augustine Okigbo expressed dismay over the inferno as the fire fighting equipments in the workshop used by the workers of the company who were around during the inferno could not put out the fire as it has gone beyond their capacity.

According to him, the inability of the company’s fire assistance to put out the fire not to spread from one luxury bus to another resulted in the fierce inferno.

“We cannot put out the fire” as it took us several hours before the arrival of fire fighting men.


“He noted that the late arrival of the fire fighters from Onitsha main market and Okpoko who came late with one tank each could not save the situation as it took them several hours to put out the fire.










Dr. Okigbo said the causes of the fire outbreak was yet to be ascertained, but recalled that chief G.U.O Okeke who is the Director/ Chief Executive of G.U.O Okeke  group of companies was always preaching against miscreants, hoodlums, kidnappers and armed robbers adding that he was always conscious but this took everybody unawares.

He appealed to the state government to equip the fire fighting men to enable them easily withstand any future occurrence in the state, adding that the fire fighting men are lacking behind as they don’t have enough equipment that can easily put out any serious inferno.

In his word, “they are supposed to be fully equipped to avert escalation of fire during any fire outbreak in any part of the state.

Dr. Okigbo also added that the fire outbreak cannot hinder their capacity and ability to render service to their numerous customers as their buses were at their various terminals to convey their passengers to various destinations.
