Thousands of youths comprising of  Youth Enterprise Transformation
Ambassadors (YETA), Jonathan’s YouWiN 1 business grant, YouWiN 2 business grant for women, YouWiN 3 business grant, and SURE-P Graduate Internship Scheme (GIS) yesterday took to the streets in different cities of Anambra state especially Awka to showcase solidarity to the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan.

www.odogwublog.com reports that the youths displayed banners, chanting songs of solidarity, and preaching to Awka
residents to vote for President Jonathan come February 14, 2015.

They said they are showcasing themselves as witnesses to the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan against the hate campaign being carried out in some quarters that the administration of Jonathan did nothing for youths. They said his re-election has become their business and they would not relent until everybody hears his successes on the part of Nigerian youths through them.
The road show which attracted over 10,000 youths is coming after a
two day extraordinary national summit in Awka.

Addressing journalists, the spokesperson of the youth groups and National Coordinator of YETA, Ezenekwe  Elochukwu, said their reasons behind the massive support for President Jonathan are innumerable.

His words: “We can no longer remain silent. No, that would be grave
injustice to Mr. President, to Nigerians and even our posterity. Having
individually secured the YouWiN entrepreneurship grant of up to 10m
naira and also benefiting from the SURE-P project of the federal
government, we are coming out to show ourselves to people in the
streets, and speak so as to enable Nigerians make better appraisal of
Mr President’s achievements and thereby vote for continuity.

“We are doing this road show today in Awka, but this is just the tip
of the iceberg compared to the strategies we mapped out at our just
concluded Extraordinary National Summit. There were about 492
delegates from all the states in Nigeria and they are beginning to
return to their localities, and within the coming days we shall light
up the streets of every major town and city across the length and
breadth of Nigeria with our testimonies. But these thousands of people are youths with Anambra and some states in the south east as we have a little about 500 youths coming from other states of the federation”.

However, YETA urged all well meaning Nigerians to support the
Jonathan Project while asking for partnerships, donations and sponsorship.

For Sandra Amaka, a delegate from Benue state, she said : “I am very happy that
this is happening now. And may I use this opportunity to call upon
well-meaning Nigerians, business men and politicians at all levels to
support us. We need donations in order to have enough funds to do even
much more than we are doing today, and also in other states.

Ahmad Abubakar, a Kano delegate expressed gratitude to YETA saying, “I
wish to thank YETA for putting up this event because a lot of us have
been looking for an organized way to show our support for President
Jonathan. I shall now go back to my state to quickly mobilize my
people in order to begin immediate implementation of the strategies
that we devised at the two day national summit.

Also speaking, another delegate from Port Harcourt, Stella McDonalds said: ‘’
We’ve had fruitful brainstorming with YouWiN and SURE-P beneficiaries
from others states to strategize on how we can robustly support Mr
President. But our major challenge still remains funding. I hope we can get
partnerships and finance to pull through with our ideas’’.
