RAGE OVER SENATOR ANDY UBA’S RE-ELECTION BID IN ANAMBRA SOUTH

Senator Andy Uba’s bid to return to the red chambers,  to represent Anambra South senatorial zone in 2015 may have suffered a serious setback this time following massive defection of his supporters to Chief Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA.

The defection manifested recently during his constituency empowerment programme held at Aguata Local Government Council which witnessed low turnout of people especially major stake holders

A close ally of the Senator who spoke to newsmen expressed disappointment that the people have failed to realize that the Senator has done a lot to develop Anambra state and Anambra South Senatorial Zone describing the empowerment programme as a total failure.

“This is a slight on our distinguished senator, but I have come to realize that people feels that the aim of the mandate giving to him is now defeated.
“I think they have decided to go back to the drawing board and work with the people who they feel will listen to their yearning and aspiration and ensure that their life are touched.

He further stated that it is not about an individual, neither the selected few, nor the hangers-on but about the generality of the people of the constituency, the children and children yet unborn.

A chieftain of APGA Chief Ndudi Ngonadi said “we thank him for the gift of money during his empowerment programme but that is not what we want”.

“He is in the government; let him give employment to our youths. Most leaders and stake holders refused the gift, some even returned it to him, but I know such items and money would not get back to him, because all those people around him will confiscate it and they will not tell him the truth.

It is no longer enticing our people,  the gift of two hundred and fifty thousand Naira to those he feels he is working with is a total waste because we don’t want bag of rice, wrapper, or bag of salt and motorcycle any longer”.

“We’ve decided to join APGA and get our own share of the state economy including basic infrastructural development, because we lost everything during Peter Obi’s administration, reason, we belong to an opposition party and those who claims to be political fathers and king makers have also failed us, so my brother this is where we are”.

“Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has realized his mistakes all these years and he has joined APGA, we are all going to support him and support Gov. Willie Obiano so that whatever other are gaining from the state we will also get while we want the senator to make good use of his office at the senate to attract Federal presence to the constituency”, Ngonadi concludes.

“Empowerment is good but basically what I believe the senatorial zone is looking forward to all those basic infrastructure like Electricity, roads, pipe borne water and cottage hospitals that are presently not in the Senatorial zone”, he said.

Telegraph learnt also that youths, women and even school children are already mobilizing support for Prince Ukachukwu who they believe has the spirit and capability to rescue them from political slavery.

They said that Uba’s handsome face will no longer deceive them again, that their trust for Andy Uba for past years have yielded no meaningful result because all their needs remain with them, the last time they saw Uba was four years ago.

Uba is in town again to buy their votes which must be resisted because Ndi Anambra South are wiser now.  It is on record that all the PDP senators since our new democracy have not attracted one single project to Anambra South and this is the time for positive change.
