Obiano's Aide Warns New Entrants To Stop Intimidating APGA Members, dismisses PDP Publicity Secretary’s ranting on APGA
New entrants from other Political Parties into the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) especially the money bags have been warned to conduct themselves with decorum and respect the old members of APGA , so says the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Interparty/Political matters, Chief Ben Obi.
Chief Obi speaking during the ongoing ward
congresses of APGA yesterday in Awka said he noticed the ongoing posture of
intimidation to old and trusted APGA members by some new entrants into APGA because
of their intension to contest the National Assembly and House of Assembly
elections in APGA reports odogwublog.com.
‘’I am saddened by the bulldozing of some people
into APGA. I am warning them that APGA will not tolerate it . They must learn
how to behave themselves by stooping to conquer . Let me sound a note of
warning to all of them because they are not doing anybody in APGA any favour
and if contesting election under APGA is a favour let them be and allow APGA to
do its things with due process.
‘’APGA is all about due process, love and peaceful
conduct and anybody that would not subject its self to that should not come it
APGA t mess up and muddle issues. APGA is set to win elections for 2015 in all
the political positions available but the Presidency and should not mess up
during congresses and primaries.
‘’APGA is not for sale to the highest bidder and if
you want to join APGA you join from your heart and not like former Governor
Peter Obi and Owelle Rochas Okorocha , Governor of Imo state because we are
tired of such big shots who do not join with their hearts. APGA is a movement for
Ndigbo which everybody must support to stand no matter religion or creed and
that is what Ojukwu the late Ikemba had in mind from the onset. He lamented that
Obi derailed from the vision of Ikemba by collapsing the bridge of APGA after he
had crossed it even as he condemned the way Obi handled the APGA primary as
according to him it was dictating to the party aspirants.
He lamented that some are already parading
themselves as the candidate of the party while congress is yet to be over but
said APGA would not allow such imposition now.
Obi who is also the Chairman of Join Jonathan
Journey (JJJ) group announced that he has concluded plans to hold a two day
workshop/seminar for all the political parties in the state before December to enable
them eschew all forms of political violence and thuggery during the 2015
General elections as nothing less peaceful election would be tolerated by
Governor Willie Obiano led government. ‘’let me tell you, the seminar/workshop is to warn all political parties to ensure violence is out of the question for 2015 election as well as political thuggery and as well educate ourselves with the assistance of experts on the best practices for free and fair election. This is because whoever wins in 2015 would be declared winner , there would be no manipulation from any quarters and APGA will not be party to any political violence.
‘’Whoever wants to contest election should not be in the internet or at Abuja or London but should come to the field and convince the electorates to vote him during the election and for us in APGA, whoever wins primary has done the 50 percent of the work and the party will now know that he is serious.
On the crisis of confidence that engulfed Anaocha local government APGA, Chief Obi said he summoned the party Chairman with all the Aspirants to a meeting and the chairman produced all the delegates forms allegedly said he has sold off for N10 million to two Aspirants for Anaocha one and two state constituencies. He added that it was all lies and attempts to discredit the party.
odogwublog.com reports that he however warned those taking oath in shrines to desist as anyone caught making promises or taking oath in any shrine would be disgraced if an APGA member but if not an APGA member would be disciplined to set standards in the political terrain in the state.
He went further to say that himself , Chief Victor Umeh the National Chairman of APGA and Governor Willie Obiano initiated the movement of JJJ to support Jonathan’s presidency since APGA has no candidate for the presidential election in 2015 , adding that Obiano is supporting Jonathan 100 percent against speculations at the contrary pointing out the unprecedented crowd that attended the flag off of JJJ as a pointer to Obiano’s support to Jonathan.
He denied that the Presidency gave the party money for its role in supporting Jonatan’s re-election campaign as according to him Obiano has been sponsoring the outfit without a dime from any quarter even the presidency as a support. He added JJJ will deliver Jonathan and nobody else can do the magic but Obiano through JJJ. But appealed to Anambra people to vote APGA in other positions after voting for Jonathan in the presidential ballot.
On the utterenaces of the National Publicity secretary of PDP , Chief Olisah Metuh that nobody can support Presidential campaign of PDP to re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan outside the party, Chief Obi said he would not join issues with Metuh as he knew how he rose to his Abuja politics but reminded him that he could not win election even in his ward in Anambra and therefore should not be talking anyhow.
He said left alone to Metuh Jonathan will fail woefully in Anambra describing Metuh as Abuja politician reminding him that APGA delivered Jonathan in 2011 and would do it again wondering how Metuh could say that APGA is being deceptive on its promise to vote Jonathan for presidency and vote its candidate for other positions.
He pointed out that APGA has 21 local government chairman, 326 councilors and majority of the members in the House of Assembly hence it would deliver Anambra to Jonathan’s ambition.
Chief Obi bragged again that Governor Obiano and the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh are firmly in control of the party, no other presidential candidate would make any impact in Anambra State, explaining that all the local government chairmen and councilors were being mobilized to carry out grassroots mobilization for the President without jeopardizing the chances of the party in the Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly elections, which will take place on the same date.
Chief Obi described Jonathan as a good brand to market for the 2015 elections because of the things he has done for the people of the South-East since he mounted the saddle.
