Governor Willie Obiano in line with his threat to
sanitize the Education sector in the state has delisted eight hundred and
seventy-Four schools from the state as illegal private schools.
This probably is an act to stop all forms of collaboration with outsiders in other states to move any student away from the
state for any examination and to ensure the students are accounted for.
Obiano had through the Commissioner for Education ,
Prof Kate Omenugha announced that the state would De-register all illegal
schools and give them ultimatum to formalize their registration or be shut
permanently.
In a release signed by Barr Harry Udu, the Permanent
secretary Ministry of Education made available to
Odogwuemekaodogwu.blogspot.com exclusively, the state has published 874 schools
tagged illegal schools in the state.
According to the list Awka South local government has
the highest number of illegal private schools with 294 illegal private schools,
Ayamelum and Orumba North with the least
illegal private schools of 07 and 08 respectively .
Others are Ekwusigo –31, Nnewi South –16 , Nnewi
North –52, Awka North –15, Anaocha –11,
Aguata –36 , Orumba South -31 , Njikoka -16, Anambra West 11, Anambra East 21
as well as Onitsha South –08 and Onitsha North 37 while Ogbaru is 44 and
Idemmili South and North 67 and 79 respectively and Ihiala 31 and Oyi 67
illegal private schools.
