There is apprehension that there would be mother of all rallies by all the priests and laity led by Archdeacons of the Anglican Diocese on the Niger on 15th September , 2014 being Monday after it was shelved last Monday.

They had unanimously resolved to shelve their proposed mother-of-all rallies and demonstrations which would have taken place last  Monday, September 8 but may carry it out this Monday.
But the good news is that the rallies and demonstrations although peaceful one have been shifted too indefinitely , so no demonstrations on Monday against popular demand.

They said the decision to shelve the rallies for a period of one month from then was due to visible delegation from the state government and other meaningful individuals of the state, adding that at the same time they decided to allow the state government time to look into their grievances as it concerned what they termed as marginalization and oppression of the Anglican Church in the state.
But having raised alarm over bias with the report of the committee already sent in and received by Governor Willie Obiano , the clergy are hell bent on letting the world hear their voices but time is what they are buying. But the Bishop of the Diocese on the Niger , Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo who was away when the callous destroying of the Anglican Church worth about N50 Million was carried out is appealing to them to have a restraint since the hierarchy of the church is reacting ,  awaiting government final stand on the matter.
Bishop Nwokolo however condemned the demolition of the church of God when the Anglican church had donated its land to other denominations in the name of Christianity wondering whey Christians should be persecuting or showing signs of persecuting other Christians.

In a press statement earlier jointly signed on their behalf by the Archdeacon of Oyi Archdeaconry, Venerable Joseph Nweke and Sub-Dean of  the All Saints' Anglican Cathedral, Onitsha, Venerable Obiora Uzochukwu, the Archdeacons in the Diocese of the Niger said after their crucial meeting at the All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha to review their on-going struggle to save the church from what they termed as unwarranted attacks from those they identified as agents of darkness, they decided to pipe down for now to respect church leadership.

According to the Archdeacons, "we hereby postpone all our proposed rallies for today , Monday, September 8 and next Monday, September 15, 2014 as planned. We ask the state government to do all the needful and conclude efforts to rout out marginalization of the Anglican church and other denominations in the state".

"Government should stop protecting the hoodlums who pulled down our Church at Oyolu-Oze in Nkwelle-Ezunaka on Monday night, August 11, 2014, but rather to arrest, investigate and prosecute them without delay. Government should also stop any provocative comments and actions against the Anglican Church forthwith", the statement further read.

"We have suspended all the proposed rallies for a period of one month from today, the statement also read, adding, after the one-month grace from today and the state government still manifest insensitivity to our demands, we shall have no other option than to commence out strategic actions to reclaim our land where the church building was demolished on the fateful day".
