It was splendid at the Archdeaconry
Quarterly Fathers Fellowship Meeting of Anglican Communion, Church of the Holy
Spirit, Awka Diocese held at the Church of Holy Spirit, Paul's University, Awka
last weekend.
Christian fathers were called upon to put
things of Christ first with a view to breeding godly home.
Rev. Sunday Eze, a
Priest in the host Church, Church of Holy Spirit, made the call in
a homily, while reminding fathers that God made them heads of their
families in order to preach Christ in words and actions, as well as to super-head
inculcation of moral and cultural virtues into their respective children
and/or wives.
Rev. Eze,
who lamented that fathers often disregard things of God and
Church activities with unquantifiable excuses, advised them to take
full responsibility of their homes copiously rather than apportioning same to
mothers (wives).
According to him, fathers' would
surely be queried sequel to their inability to bring these souls to
God even when they had opportunity to do so.
He further reiterated the needs
for brethrens to sheer distractions and serve God in truth and
honesty just as St. Paul instructed brethren in 1st Corinthians
11:1-3.
In a short speech after the meeting,
Chairman of the fathers' fellowship, Mr. Anayo Dimelu, affirmed that the
fellowship would put-in its best in championing Christ
works.
Highpoint of the meeting was to
discuss how to move the Church of God Forward.
