Vice Chancellor Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku this afternoon inaugurated the Prof Chineyere Stella Okunna Auditorium at the Mass Communication Complex refurbished by the Head of Department , Dr Ifeoma Vivian Dunu, reports odogwuemekaodogwu.blogspot.com .

Prof Au Nnonyelu , the Dean of the Faculty was represented by Prof Michael Ezenwa , a Professor of Chemical Psychology even as Director of Physical Planning, Dr Godson Okafor among lecturers and students of Mass Communication witnessed the event that was described by the Vice Chancellor as a game changer in the University which all must emulate.

He spoke of Prof Okunna in glowing words for her uncommon feat and support while urging other departments to emulate Dr Dunu in using development funds for common good.

Prof Ezenwa lauded Prof Ahaneku for the feat his administration recorded with the release of the post UME examinations as results were released within two hours unlike what was obtainable during Prof Egboka’s regime.

Prof Ahaneku had earlier warned students to ensure the Auditorium is kept clean and neat as that is the way to go rather than litter it and urged other departments to learn top utilize University fund wisely like the department of Mass Communication.

While thanking Prof Stella Okunna for always standing in the gap for the University and attracting favours from her government to the university commended her selfless disposition for the department she left for appointment , calling on others to emulate Okunna and Dunu in their strides in making the department best in the university.

Prof Okunna, former Chief of staff to former Governor Peter Obi and Commissioner for Economic Planning said she was amazed by the encomium on her by the Vice Chancellor and assured to do more for the department . She commended the VC for the feat with post JAMB examinations which according to her was the beginning of the good things to come describing Dr Dunu as young , full of ideas and vibrant pledging to continue to not only support her but invest her resources for the common good of the department.
