How Late Dora Was Laid To Rest In A Blaze Of Glory Amidst Encomiums From Prominent Leaders Today

People from all walks of life , local and international attended the burial mass to pay their final respect to the late Amazon whom they all concurred wanted the best for her country judging from her de-tribalized and selfless disposition.

The burial mass for late Prof. Dora Akunyili was attended by dignitaries including Gen. Gowon rtd and his wife , Mrs. Bola Obasanjo , Governor of Bauchi state Dr. Isah Yuguda , Governor of Imo state Owelle Rochas Okorocha , Wife of Ebonyi State Governor Mrs. Josephine Elechi , Wife of Abia State Governor Mrs . Ogechi Orji .

Others were Ex-Governor Peter Obi , Ex-Governor Sam Egwu , Minister of health Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu , Minister of Power Prof.Chinedu Nebo , DG -NAFDAC Dr Paul Orhi , DG-SON Dr. Joseph Odumodu , DG-Nigerian Stock Exchange Miss Arunma Oteh , Deputy-Speaker House of Reps Rt.Hon.Emeka Ihedioha , Senator Andy Uba, Senator Chris Ngige , Senator Annie Okonkwo , House of assembly members , house of reps members , commissioners , local government chairmen among others. They were too numerous to mention at a glance.

Late Prof Dora's eldest son Dr Edozie Akunyili who spoke on behalf of the Akunyili's said her mother did not live for Catholics alone  but also lived for all Nigerians .

 Dr. Akunyili maintained that her late mother wanted the best for the country which according to him made manifest in all her efforts to unite the country as well as restore Nigeria's lost glory through the re-branding Nigeria project . He therefore urged all and sundry to keep the legacies of her late mother aglow by making the country the best in the world .

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state on his part described Dora's death as celebration of life as he observed that the '' who is who '' all over the world came to pay their last homage to the'' no nonsense woman'' .

Gov. Obiano also noted that the late NAFDAC DG began the re-brand Nigeria project noting further that Dora Akunyili was fearless , intrepid and resolute which according to him was the propelling force why she originated the slogan '' Nigeria:  good people , great nation '' .

Minister of information Mr.Labaran Maku who addressed journalists shortly after the church service said late Prof.Dora Akunyili represented the country and uplifted the standard of womanhood.

Maku described her as a great fighter who fought against fake and counterfeit drugs in the country
as well as extolled her tireless efforts in giving Nigeria a befitting image abroad . The minister of information therefore urged all and sundry to uphold her legacies and take solace in her virtuous deeds.

Meanwhile the Bishop of Awka catholic diocese His Lordship Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor on behalf of the clergy thanked all those who came to pay the last homage to Prof.Dora Akunyili .

Bishop Ezeokafor equally implored everybody to continue to pray for the repose of her soul .
