Hon Emeke Nwogbo Says He Is Still In APGA Amidst Mixed Feelings

Odogwuemekaodogwu.blogspot.com reports that when Hon Uche Ekwunife and co travelers announced that they decamped to People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon Emeke Nwogbo member representing Awka North /South announced he is still in APGA although many did not believe that. At quarters in his constituency, members of APGA said he is with Ekwunife, House committee chairman on Environment.

Efforts to reach Nwogbo were not fruitful as at press time as his two numbers were not connecting.
But odogwuemekaodogwu.blogspot.com reports that Nwogbo had earlier addressed a press a conference. He declared in Awka that he is still a bonafide member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Reacting to the recent defection of five of his colleagues in the House of Representatives from APGA to  the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nwogbo said the move was a voyage of convenience.
He said it was unfortunate that the lawmakers took such a decision at a time they were expected to join hands with the APGA leadership and the Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano to build a united and viable political party for the Igbo, preparatory to 2015 general elections.
He vowed that he would remain in APGA for the rest of his political career, saying the party would miss the five members who had contributed to its growth. However, he advised the leadership of the party and Governor Obiano not to be distracted by the defection.
He said APGA had provided a veritable platform for all Igbo men to actualise their political ambitions and urged other members of the party to place its interest above personal gain.
The federal lawmaker urged all eligible voters and those who had attained voting age, to ensure they participated in the forthcoming issuance of permanent voter cards and registration of new voters , so as to qualify to vote in future elections in the country.
He also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, to prepare adequately to ensure that materials get to various centres on time so that people could exercise their civil duties.
