2015 In Our Mind: Omambala Region, Anambra North Senatorial Zone Roots For Chief Dubem Obaze As Senator

Some people feel that 2015 is far away from now. This is a
 wrong notion. We have just four months left in 2014. Given
 the significance of next year, politically speaking, is it
 not time we started deciding what to do to make the best of
 it?
 Since charity begins at home, one would want to begin with
 one’s senatorial zone: The Anambra North Senatorial Zone.
 This zone which has produced the incumbent governor of our
 dear state, is made up of two major blocs – the Omabala
 axis (comprising Anambra East, Anambra West, Oyi and
 Ayamelum LGAs)  and the Onitsha - Ogbaru zone (made up
 of Onitsha and Ogbaru communities).
 Now that the Omabala area has given us a Governor in the
 person of Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, it will only be fair for
 the next senator for Anambra North to come from the Onitsha
 – Ogbaru zone.
 Of course, there are several people from this zone who are
 jostling for this seat. We should be very careful in making
 a choice this time.
 Why don’t we pick on a man of the people who has been
 tried and tested, a mobilizer of people and resources who
 had delivered people as well as dividends of Democracy, one
 – time member of the Anambra State Executive Council? Why
 don’t we ask Chief Dubem Obaze to rise to the occasion? A
 stitch in time saves nine!
