Schools Shut As Protests Continue In Kano Over Sanusi

It was tension soaked for the third day running as  irate youths opposed to the emergence of Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the 14th Fulani emir of Kano took to the streets today’s morning forcing the closure of private and public schools in the state, odogwuemekaodogwu.com can authoritatively report.
                  
The youth in their hundreds set bonfire on Emir palace road holding green leaves while chanting “bamuayi”.


A number of schools remain shut in the city while additional security was noticed in banks premises.

Although the protests were concentrated within the old city, millions of city dwellers avoided the streets.

odogwuemekaodogwu.com in Sabon Gari, a predominantly Christian quarters, business activities suffered hiccup as most shops remained closed for fear of looting by protesters.
However, Government offices remained open, with civil servants at their duty posts.
odogwuemekaodogwu.com commenting on the development, Police Public Relations Officer in Kano, ASP Magaji Musa Majia, said “yes, we have some security challenges at hand but we have deployed counter measures to address them”.
