Odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that an Aba based businessman, Mr. Christopher Ndubuisi, has regained his freedom two days after he was abducted by unknown gunmen but not without paying N20 Million ransom.
Abia state Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) ASP Geoffrey Ogbonna who confirmed that the businessman has since been reunited with his family, called on the public not to hesitate to volunteer information about the kidnappers who are still with Ndubuisi’s Nissan Xterra jeep.
A combined team of soldiers, policemen and the Abia Vigilante Services (AVS) rescued the businessman who was seized in front of his house at No. 26 Church road, Aba. He was said to have been rescued as the security agents acting on a tip off, invaded a bush located between Osusu Amaukwa and Umuafor communities in Obingwa council area of the state.
A family source told odogwuemekaodogwu.com that it was not yet clear if any ransom was paid out of the N20 million demanded by the kidnappers told our correspondent that Ndubuisi was back at his house about 6:30 pm on Wednesday.
A cross section of residents of the commercial city who commended the security operatives for the action called for more presence of security agents at crime prone areas to check kidnapping which is gradually returning to the city.
