odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that as Muslims begin  their holy month of Ramadan, President Goodluck Jonathan,  today tasked  them to imbibe the virtues of piety, tolerance and fairness to all.

This was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati.

He equally urged Nigerians not to succumb to despair, but to remain steadfast in the firm conviction that with courage, determination, focus, decisiveness and collective support for the Armed Forces  and security agencies, the country will ultimately overcome the evil agents of sectionalism, sectarianism and international terrorism who seek to disunite the nation.

Odogwuemekaodogwu.com also reports that Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has urged Muslims to use the period of the Holy month of Ramadan to pray for the country, and to rededicate themselves to the service of God and humanity.
In a statement to commemorate the start of the Islamic fasting of Ramadan issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Malam Imam Imam, Tambuwal said  with prayers, the country would overcome the current security challenges facing it.
He said the Holy month provides opportunity for increased worship, making of peace, strengthening of ties and doing away with bad habits. "We must all seize these opportunities for the betterment of ourselves, our families and our nation," he added.
