Goodluck Nigeria 2015, has said that the success of last Saturday governorship
election in Ekiti State was a clear indication that President Goodluck
Jonathan’s reform agenda is working, especially as it has brought sanity in the
nation’s electoral process.
In an interview with newsmen in
Awka, today, South East zonal Coordinator of the group, Chief Ugochukwu
Okeke, noted that the Ekiti governorship election was free and fair and devoid
of rancour as a result of the reforms in the country’s electoral process initiated
by President Jonathan when he assumed office.

reforms had made it possible for the electoral umpire INEC and stakeholders to
work hand in hand for the success of the elections so far conducted in
the country, adding that by this development, politics of rancour and acrimony
had been put aside as the clear winner always emerges without interference from
outside influence.
While congratulating the winner, Mr.
Ayodele Fayose, for his success at the election, Okeke urged him to use the
opportunity of the mandate as governor to initiate viable policies and
programmes that would serve the overall interest of the masses so that history
would remember him well at last.
He also commened the incumbent
Governor of Ekiti State .Dr . Kayode Fayemi, who contested the election
alongside with Fayosi for exhibiting the spirit of sportsmanship by accepting
defeat and congratulating the winner, stressing that this would stand as a good
example to other leaders.
Okeke, nevertheless, urged the
governor-elect, Fayosi, to close ranks with other progressives in the country
to prevail on President Jonathan to contest the proposed 2015 presidential
election, so as to enable him conclude the good works he had started,
