Bishop Ephraim Okechukwu Ikeakor Lambasts Human Rights Groups On Escalation Of Boko Haram

Odogwuemekaodogwu.com reports that Anglican Bishop of Amichi Diocese, Right Reverend Ephraim Okechukwu Ikeakor yesterday said the Human Rights Groups aided the escalation of Boko Haram insurgency in the country.

Bishop Ikeakor lamented that since 2009  Boko Haram started the Federal government wanted to fight it outright but Human Rights groups started shouting that they are violating their rights. He wept for the number of lives that have been wasted without Human Rights shouting again for the rights of those killed by Boko Haram.

Odogwuemekaodogwu.com further reports that Bishop Ikeakor spoke during a press conference to mark the third session of the second Synod of the Diocese of Amichi ,Anglican Communion holding at the Immanuel Anglican Church Ekwulumili , Nnewi South local government area, Anambra state.

Bishop Ikeakor insisted that despite the threats of break, Nigeria would remain one indivisible entity but appealed to Igbo business men scattered everywhere in the country to start a gradual relocation of their businesses into Igbo land  to reduce the menace of waking one morning and losing everything to heartless and hapless chaps who do not know the efforts put in to save resources for such huge investments of Ndigbo outside Igbo land.
‘’Show me a Yoruba or an Hausa man who owns a house in any part of Igbo land or rather who owns a factory in any part of Igbo land? I am not talking from the point view of an Igbo man or tribalism but the realities on ground. Go to other parts of the country and you will find out that any wonderful house around is owned  by an Igbo man. The factories and residential houses everywhere being destroyed and burnt are owned by Igbo businessmen and women. That is why our men and women should relocate their businesses here and develop our place. Lagos and Abuja and anywhere in this country are developed by Igbo men before the indigenes of those areas started investing too but nobody from elsewhere invests in Igbo land. I stand to be corrected. Go to any part of Igbo land and see investments owed by Ndigbo…..’’odogwuemekaodogwu.com concludes quote.

Ikeakor warned the religious bigots and extremists to realize that Nigeria belongs to all the tribes and not one tribe and therefore should stop the senseless killing of people who did nothing to them. He reasoned that the bombings going on in the North has destroyed the states both businesswise and tourist wise as well as the sanctity of human lives.
Odogwuemekaodogwu.com  observes that Ikeakor decried the situation where states in the Niger Delta are barren from development despite multi million naira generated from oil in their domain. Abuja and Lagos as well as other parts of the country use the resources to develop like wonderlands without anybody thinking of the oil producing communities without basic amenities. He wondered why a pipe should be laid from Port Harcourt in Niger Delta to Kaduna in the Northern Nigeria to build a refinery when the producing communities are abandoned.
He described as unjust the fact that out of about 103 oil wells in the country 85 belongs to Northerners without any oil well at their back yard, even as he emphasized that Igbo people are the holders of Nigerian economy.

Ikeakor  said  the theme of the synod is ‘’Who is on the Lord’s side?’’ and will be used to dissect the need for Christians to shun all forms of idol worshipping  and entangling with cultures alien to Christian practice.
