Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Anambra State, Senator Chris Ngige yesterday stated that the party's local government congress in the state would have been as peaceful as the just concluded wards congress of the party in the state, if it had taken place as scheduled.

Ngige who spoke at Alor, his home town in Idemili South Local Government Area of the state, shortly after their state caucus meeting, said they had concluded arrangements to conduct the exercise but all of a sudden, the national executive directed them to postpone it till Tuesday.

He lamented that they had already finished their harmonization process and were waiting to come to the field to showcase their peaceful coexistence before the latest directive from the national executive of the party.

Contributing, chieftain of APC in the state, Chief Charles Amilo confirmed that delegates from the ward congress had already emerged from the 226 wards for the local government congress before its sudden postponement by the national officers.
Following the peaceful atmosphere that greeted last Tuesday's ward congresses, the member representing Idemili North and South at the House of Representatives, Hon. Charles Odedo and the state party leader, Senator Chris Ngige had told newsmen that the party was battle ready for 2015.

“We started with the stakeholders meeting where all the so-called groups came together and all the issues were resolved amicably and that is a very good example by APC. What that shows is that the party is fully prepared for the 2015 battle with PDP in Nigeria”, Odedo stated.
The former national secretary of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples’ Party (ANPP) and Ngige’s Campaign Director-General, Chief George Muoghalu, told reporters that “what had happened in Anambra showed that the people desired for change”.
Muoghalu stated that the rumoured factions by those described as disgruntled elements does not exist, adding that everybody was happy for the peaceful exercise.
The two APC House of Assembly members in the state, Hon. Tony one-week Muonagor and Hon. Ebere Obi told newsmen yesterday that APC had become so popular in the state, hence, the zeal by the people for change.
Some of the APC state officials like the Interim Publicity Secretary, Mr Chukwuma Agufugo whose Enugwu-Ukwu ward 2 witnessed a large crowd said that APC had regrouped in the state.
