local government area His Royal Highness Igwe G O Ezechukwu (Okwuluoha 1) has
described the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Dr.
Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor as a selfless and determined man of God.
Igwe Ezechukwu who made the assertion at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Achalla -Umuchu said his commendation was borne out of selfless way the bishop goes about rendering all kinds of humanitarian services and the numerous achievements of the bishop in the areas of ministration, education, health and agriculture and most especially agreeing to instituting a Maternity home at his domain (Umuchu) when the then government of Chief Peter Obi asked him to choose place for the building of the hospital.
The royal father who was not of Catholic faith noted that ordinarily the bishop would have opted for his home town Nanka as many would have done but at the chagrin of many decided to have it built in another community adding that the act had endeared the bishop to the people's heart .
Igwe Ezechukwu while commending the bishop called on other Church leaders to emulate him and also practice what they preach. 'I lack words to describe Bishop Ezeokafor; he is not only determine to preach and practice what he preaches but also ready to do that at the expense of his hapiness and comfort' Igwe Ezechukwu said.

constant prayer for the ordained and as well shun unnecessary criticisms.

Bishop Ezeokafor who was represented by the Catholic Bishop of Ahiara Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Peter Eberechukwu Okpaleke made the call at St. Dominic Savio Major Seminary, Akpu Orumba South local government area, during this year's Chrism Mass/ Cathedraticum.
Bishop Ezeokafor who acknowledged that sometimes priests do made mistakes as a result of unwarranted inducement or pressure charged Christians to play down on frivolous speculations and come out open to pray for their priests noting that they are humans therefore liable to one mistake or other.
He said with their prayers, supports and encouragements they would never derailed from carryingout their pastoral functions and prayed them not see them as super humans but as ones that could make mistakes at some point of their lives.
The cleric noted that the priests were been sustained by the prayers and supports garnered from the people of God and urged them to pray even more adding that with their constant prayers the priests' mistakes would be reduce to its barest minimum.
The prelate while urging for prayers for the priests enjoined the Church leaders to ensure that they live up to their callings and to shun acts capable of misleading them. He called on them to always go for that which would enable them remained the shepherd which they were and also indulge in pragmatic and undiluted preaching of the message of Jesus Christ. Bishop Ezeokafor who frowned at some of the Church leaders who now resorted to living of ostentatious lifestyle at the expense of their flocks and called for outright change of attitude.
