Shell Invests Over N300 Million On Dialysis and Mammogram Equipment At Iyi-Enu Hospital, Anambra State

Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company yesterday commissioned over N300 Million hi-tech ultra modern Dialysis and Mammogram centers provided at the Iyi –Enu Mission Hospital, Ogidi, Anambra state. 

Commissioning the centers, the Managing Director, Shell Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo), Sir Chike Onyejekwe said they don’t believe in donating equipment to hospital but rather works with partners to set up viable and sustainable programmes that add value.

He said the hospital has no Dialysis center since it started over 107 years ago but with pride SNEPCO is provided 5 dialysis machines, five dialysis chairs and accessories including the ultra filtration units and have trained a total of 55 senior health officers on different stages of health care.

In his remarks, Regional Community Health Manager, SPDC, Dr B.A Fakule represented by Dr Ofuoma Ovwigho ,Clinical Health Adviser , Community Health Department said Iyi-Enu hospital has 266 bed facility and one of the best in Anambra state in health delivery strategically located and with potential to provide a wide range of quality-assured health services despite low utilization rate based on baseline assessment it carried out in 2013.

The Hospital Administrator of Iyi Enu Mission Hospital Ogidi, Rev Ikechukwu Okwuosa expressed gratitude with NAPIMS-- National Petroleum Investment Management Services and SNEPCo’s intervention in the hospital reducing the travel distances of those willing to assess the Dialysis treatment. He said Bishop Owen Nwokolo’s strides and foresight in making the hospital a world class is appreciated.

Bishop Owen Nwokolo represented by Bishop of Afikpo Diocese , Bishop Paul Udogu and wife Nnoye Nwokolo expressed gratitude for the partnership targeted at giving the society a better health care system and prayed God to continue to be the healer of patients in the hospital.
