Ihedioha, Obi Laud Ogene Over 500 Youths Empowerment In Anambra



                                        
DEPUTY Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, and Governor Peter Obi of Anambra state yesterday commended Member Representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Afam Ogene for empowering over 500 youths in his constituency.


Ogene is offering 500 jobs for unskilled and unemployed to his constituents thorough late Fidelis Ogene Memorial Foundation in collaboration with the National Directorate of Empowerment (NDE) school on wheel skill acquisition programme.

The youths were trained in various skills, including Computer Appreciation, Electrical Installation, Hair Dressing, Barbing, Catering, GSM Handset Repairs and Fashion Designing.
Ogene provided grants in aid worth over N30 Million in equipment like sewing machine grinding machine, oven, dryers laptop computers, computer bowl box for electrical installation, generating sets. Clippers, motorcycle for party leaders and wheel chair for the disables.

Ogene said: “We are set out to touch the lives of the people who need a little push to move in life. For those who can fend for themselves, I respect them by being their voice. But next month, we will begin the second batch, so that before the tenure is off, we would have trained over 500 youths’’.


Ihedioha eulogized the legislator, describing him as one of the striving force in Nigeria and one of the pillars of the leadership of the House of Representatives.

The Deputy Speaker however enjoyed the beneficiaries to utilize the items provided for the skills they have acquired.
Governor Obi represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Oseloka Obaze described Ogene’s gesture as a quality representative, noting that the beneficiaries will not forget the gesture in a jiffy
National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh described Ogbaru as a great constituency with lots of political gurus who have been attracting Federal and State Government largess to their constituents.
State Coordinator, National Directorate of Empowerment (NDE)   Mr. Michael Mbata thanked Hon Ogene for his show of concern and patriotism by sponsoring the school-on-wheel skill acquisition training.
He noted that the trainees would have become ready-made tools for mischief makers in the society “but we thank God that it did not happen.
