APC Chieftain Speaks About Boko Haram

FOREMOST Pharmacist Chief Reuben Mbadiwe Okongwu yesterday gave hope that the dreaded Boko Haram incidence in the North East Nigeria would disappear like Biafra.

Pharmacist Okongwu a commanding officer of the defunct Biafran  Army said Boko Haram attack on the nation is like an evil wind that will soon stop blowing just like any of such that has blown before.
Okongwu who is also the Chairman, board of trustees of Nzukora Nnewi , the social cultural organisation of the industrial town commended the president Dr Goodluck Jonathan for the mature way he has been handling the issue which he noted has not allowed the matter to get out hand.
He said: “President Goodluck has faced more challenges than any other president and he is really trying his best. I like the way he handled the case of the minister of aviation and that of the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria .We should not forget that he is investing heavily on the war against the insurgents’’.
He called for a powerful investigations into the grave allegations made against the NNPC by the suspended CBN boss and to make the organisation more accountable.
He stated that it’s just a matter of time, the nation will soon forget that it was ever attacked by the Boko Haram insurgents.
Okongwu further said that he was not even sure if he would vote for the president during the election but added quickly that whenever a man is doing a good job , he should be commended and encouraged .
“Now the president has made the ministers sign performance contract and anyone that is not above board is shown the way out , that is commendable”.
The American trained pharmacist however urged the National Assembly to step up their level of support to the president which he said would be in the best interest of the country.
“ Out of the over three hundred members of House of Reps only a few of them are active , the senate is a little bit mature as expected but the question we should still ask ourselves is that how many of these legislators are really Nigerian at heart and disposition”
He blamed the suspended governor of the Central Bank ,Mallam Lamido Sanusi for being a blabber mouth and for talking so much against a government he was part of “I expected the suspended governor of the CBN to  write a memo to the president or even the National Assembly when he discovered that things are not working the way he expected instead of running to the press with an un substantiated claims.
Pharmacist Okongwu while talking about the activities of his party , the All Progressives Congress  pointed out that the party is a creation many ideas . He noted that all the officers of the party are occupying the positions on acting capacity which gives them the power to say whatever they deem right on behalf of the party.
He said emphatically that he disagree with some of the statements credited to the party most especially those comment that fails to draw a line between party politics and national interest  “ How can the APC order its members in the National Assembly to frustrate the pssage of budget. I think interest of the nation to be above party and other selfish interests
He also called for caution on the way the doors of the party is thrown open to all manners of contradictory forces so as to know why people are really joining the party.
On the rumours that the All Progressives Congress would disintegrate during the party’s primaries to decide its presidential flag bearer for the 2015 general election, Pharm Okongwu said that there is no need to worry about that for now that the APC would cross the bridge when it gets there
He however maintained that all Nigerians has the inalienable right to aspire for any elective position their country and that the duty of electing people into positions of authority is collective responsibilities of all even as he charged Nigerians to learn to put their country first in everything they do as it is done in other climes .
