As the nation looks forward for the formal declaration of the
President for the 2015 Presidential election, a group has been inaugurated in
Anambra State, for his support in the Presidential bid.
The group – Goodluck to Goodluck for 2015 was launched at
Ngozika Housing Estate, Awka, where
personalities that cut across the three senatorial zones and all segments of
the society gathered to pledge their support to the President who they said,
had performed creditably in his first tenure and therefore deserve a second tenure
to enable him continue transforming
Nigeria.
Attendance at the inaugural meeting includes: Barr. Stella Odife former Deputy Governor Anambra State, Ichie Mike Ejezie former
Governorship Candidate in 2010 Election, Hon. Engr. Emeka Iduh member Anambra
State House of Assembly, Mr. Emma Iwobi former EFCC Director, Chief Obi Philip
Ume-Ezeoke former Director Police Service Commission, Wing Comdr. Joe Anyika
(rtd) etc .
Some of the members of the state executive of the group
include Prince Edwin C. Ume-Ezeoke the state coordinator, Chief Johnny Ilongwo
State Deputy coordinator, Chief Lawrence O. Chigbo State coordinating
Secretary, Mrs. Goodluck Ifeoma Ogbogu state women coordinator, Mr. Emma Iwobi
state Financial coordinator, Mr. Onyeka Agu state youth coordinator, Barr. S.
Nnakaenyi state legal adviser, Barr. Alex Ikeazor etc.
Addressing the gathering before the formal inauguration, the
Anambra State Coordinator of the group, Prince Chineme Edwin Ume-Ezeoke who was
former Special Adviser to the President On Civil Society Matters, said that
President Jonathan had given Nigerians the type of leadership they needed and
therefore deserved the support of all and sundry, to enable him record more
successes.
Prince Ume-Ezeoke said that all parts of Nigeria and all
ethnic groups in Nigeria had benefited immensely from what he described as the
effective and quality leadership which President Jonathan offered Nigerians
since assumption of office.
The President he said, was not daunted by the problems
created by those who did everything to distract his attention and thereby
destabilize the nation.
According to him, the Igbo nation should give their maximum
support to Jonathan because he had done a lot for them and recalled in
particular, that the President elevated the Akanu Ibiam Airport to an
international airport.
He also noted with delight that roads in Igbo States were
already receiving serious attention while construction work would soon start on
the second bridge across the Niger.
He said “Nigerians should be happy that fuel supply had been
regular since the President assumed office and that the prizes of petroleum
products had been stable”
Also speaking, the Deputy Coordinator of the group, Chief Johnny
Ilongwo urged the members to remain steadfast in their determination to ensure
the success of President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term in office,
pointing out that his achievements in the first tenure qualifies him for
another term of office.
He said that the President had provided the blueprint for fast
tracking the development of Nigeria.
According to him, the remarkable improvement recorded in the
power sector was enough to give the President a chance to complete what he
started.
In his vote of thanks, the state coordinating secretary Chief
Lawrence Chigbo expressed his gratitude at the huge turnout at the event and
urged the officers of the group to remain loyal and always stick to the
organization’s blue print of work for a one hundred percent success in the
state.
