Governor Peter Obi said that he would
continue working till his last minutes in office.
He said this during the inspection of
the on-going projects in the State. Inspecting the Nsugbe road, the Governor
expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work meant to link both
sides of Nsugbe Community.
Governor Obi said the road would officially be
flagged off within one week as the contractor has already done appreciable
level of work.
He explained that government decided to
embark on the project which has a bridge and would require breaking through the
hills and difficult terrain to give the people direct access route.
Meanwhile, the State Government will
support the completion of the multi-million Naira Holy Rosary Secondary School,
Nsugbe belonging to the congregation of the missionary Sister of the Holy
Rosary. Governor Obi, who pledged the assistance after inspecting the project,
noted that the congregation has already invested over sixty million Naira of
their own fund on the project and deserved to be assisted by the State
government.
He explained that this was in line with
the policy of the government to support any organization, group or associations
that invest in the State. The Governor noted that when completed,
children of the State would be the major beneficiary of the school and
expressed satisfaction that promotion of functional and qualitative education has
expunged magic centres and other malpractices in the State school system.
Addressing the people of the community
later, Governor Obi assured that the road project would be completed on
schedule to give the people access to various parts of the town without difficulty
and charged the contractor to deliver according to specifications.
