Citizen Chinedu Akuta In London Writes Transport Minister Over Onitsha Sea Port

The Letter from Citizen Chinedu Akuta in London to Transport Minister in Nigeria, Senator Umar Idris

Senator Idris Umar,
Minister for Transport,
Ministry of Transport, Abuja
Nigeria.

Dear Sir/Ma,

Onitsha Seaport; A Request for Information.

Relying on the Freedom of Information Act 2011, kindly furnish the nation, the stage and state of the Onitsha Seaport. Since this is a federal government project, financed and funded by the tax payers money, therefore, by right, the public deserves to have updates on the progress or otherwise of this project.

As you are aware, this project is well over twenty five years (quarter of a century). Suffice it to say that, it would be in the public interest, if your ministry could make available the following information;
(A). The amount of money so far committed to this project.
(B). The names of the contractors handling this job.
(C). The completion dates
(D). Any other relevant information.

It would be very much appreciated, if your ministry could comply with the above requested information within the next 30 working days from today (22/01/2014). Due to the public nature of this project, this letter has also been made public, hoping that you will reply publicly.

Sincerely Yours
Chinedu Vincent Akuta
UK.
