Muslim
community in Anambra state yesterday sued for peace from all quarters
especially from those who contested the 2013 Governorship election in the
state.
They
called on the contestants to embrace the result as announced by the Independent
National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the spirit of sportsmanship in other to
move the state to the next level.
In
a release signed by the Secretary General of Anambra state Muslim Council ,
Alhaji Sani Ejoh, the Muslim community called for support for the Governor
elect , Chief Willy Obiano and his Deputy , Dr Nkem Okeke.
‘’I
must seize this opportunity to thank the Muslim community for being law abiding
during the elections and for voting wisely and I assure the Muslim community that
the incoming administration will continue to bring democracy dividends to their
doorsteps.
‘’We
pray Almighty Allah to grant the Governor elect and Deputy Governor elect the
wisdom , strength and good health to steer the ship of state in the right
direction. I am very optimistic that given their pedigree , Chief Obiano and
his deputy will live up to expectations on the continuity and consolidation
project.
The
release further added,‘’ The victory of APGA is a testimony of Governor Peter
Obi’s superlative achievements in Anambra state and the yearnings of
Anambrarians for continuity of good works. Their election is victory for the
masses , Ndigbo and democracy …their merited landslide victory in he just
concluded gubernatorial polls in Anambra state was well deserved.
‘’I
commend INEC and the security agencies for ensuring free, fair and credible
elections in Anambra state.
