Owere-Ezukala in Orumba South Local Government Area at
the weekend celebrated their 2018 New yam festival. The traditional ruler of
the town, Igwe Thomas Ogbonnaya and the entire community at Ishishi Square of
the town.
The 8 villages in the community were in attendance with different cultural exhibitions.

Igbawuru-aja cultural troop of the Owere-Ezukala,
which emerged champions at 1977 FESTAC cultural exhibition in Lagos, also
performed during the new yam celebration.
The town had expected the Governor , Chief Willie Obiano to perform functions at the
Africa’s biggest natural cave and waterfalls, the Owerre-Ezukala Caves and Waterfalls but he allegedly did not come. Details later
