Mr Mike Nwachukwu a front line Owerri Senatorial zone
(Imo East) aspirant under the political platform of All Progressives Grand
Alliance (APGA) says he is driven by the need for quality and effective
representation of his constituents and Nigerians at large, reports www.odogwublog.com.
Nwachukwu who hails from Ulakwo in Owerri North
council area of Imo State stated this over the weekend at the community central
school open field during a well attended political carnival ceremony marking
the grand finale of his sensitization cum mobilization tour of the 104 wards
that constitute the senatorial district.
He lamented over the environmental degradation of the
senatorial zone as well as poor infrastructural developments which he
attributed to selfish and poor representations of the area by her previous
representatives .
The aspirant promised if given the party ticket to win
the general election and to yearly identify five critical roads in each of the
9 local government areas that constitute the senatorial district for federal
government agencies quick intervention.
The seasoned banker and financial guru turned
politician also informed that he is eyeing membership of the Senate Committee
on Appropriation based on his professional competence.
Nwachukwu while advising delegates to jettison
financial inducement at the detriment of merit and credibility assured to
unlocked the federal government resources in overall interest of the
constituents and Nigerians at large. The aspirant who was the party state
secretary for over 6 years further promised to make APGA a strong regional
party and to maintain functional constituency office in each of the 9 council
areas.
He further described himself as the most qualified
among the litany of other aspirants assuring of his willingness to organize
monthly town Hall meeting with his constituents if elected.
In his speech Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho, a member of
APGA Board of Trustees (BOT) commended the aspirant for his courage and
dexterity.
Iheanacho described him as a true patriot who is
eminently qualified for the senatorial seat.
He passionately appealed to the party delegates not to
sacrifice merit at the altar of money and restated his unreserved backing to
the aspirant.
Similarly, Mrs Ann Dozie, one time Commissioner for
Women Affairs in the state applauded the aspirant for acquitting himself with
the nooks and crannies of the senatorial zone noting that as an evidence of
willingness and preparedness.
Dozie assured her of victory but advised her on the
need for open door policies and respect to the party leadership.
