Awka Kingdom and two traditional rulers syndrome: Anambra CP Umar confirms Ezeuzu as authentic

www.odogwublog.com reports that following the division in Awka community over who is the authentic traditional ruler between Obi Dr Gibson Nwosu and his former traditional Prime minister, now later day challenger Igwe Austin Ndigwe, Uzu Awka, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Garba Umar has given a nod to Ezeuzu.

For leading security chiefs on a courtesy call, Umar has endorsed Ezeuzu against Uzu Awka and that’s what Ezeuzu needs now.

Umar said the command will continue to work with the traditional institution in the state to promote peace, law and order.

Commissioner, Garba was received at the palace by the members of the Igwe Cabinet and other titled men, led by the Prime Minister of Awka, Chief Benjamin Okoye.

Police Commissioner Umar noted that he has worked closely with the traditional ruler adding that the synergy has brought stronger resolve in crime fighting.

He used the opportunity to warn those who go contrary to the law by parading themselves as traditional rulers in whatever guise to retrace their steps as the laws are clear on selection and certification of traditional rulers.

CP Garba further warned the IPOB members against forcing members of the public from going about their lawful businesses under seat at home order, as the command is mobilized against those who want to disturb public peace.

Obi Gibson Nwosu while receiving the delegation commended the command for its doggedness in fighting crime in the state, especially nipping kidnapping in the bud, as well as the Command's ability to decisively tackle issues of cultism, making Anambra state the safest state in the country.

He reiterated the support of the traditional institution in fighting crime and criminality in the state, especially in Awka capital city.

Also speaking the traditional Prime Minister, Chief Okoye thanked the Commissioner for his visit, and good works, adding that the community is always ready to collaborate with security agencies.

Among his entourage, was the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Mr. Mike Okoli, State Commander Anti-Cult, Mr. Bassey Okon, Mobile Police Commander in Awka, Mr. John Paul, and his counterpart at Onitsha, Lawal Turkur, amongst others.
