Two prophets, Olushola Akindele and Ayodele Bamiduro
have been arrested by Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing their
female friend identified as Iya Anu, cutting off her head and palms.
Akindele, said to be a bricklayer, had been dating the
deceased for two years.
He was said to have slept with the deceased and, while
she was resting, smashed her head and threw her remains in an uncompleted
building beside his bungalow at Igbore Robiyan in Agbado/Oke-Aro, Ifo Local
Government Area of the state. It was gathered that Akindele buried the victim’s
head and palms behind Bamiduro’s church, Lion of Judah Church of Christ on 13,
Robiyan Avenue.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, who
conducted newsmen round the crime scenes, said the headless decomposing body
was found by the village head, who reported to the Police on August 10.
He described the incident as wickedness, saying three
suspects, including the two clerics, have been arrested in connection with the
crime. On interrogation, Olushola Akindele, who claimed to be a prophet,
confessed that the victim was his lover.
Asked why he killed the woman, the suspect said he
does not know, adding “we had been lovers for two years; she sold alcoholic
drinks and had been pestering me to help her with just N10,000. “That fateful
day, I do not know what came over me. I killed her by smashing her head with
wood.”
