www.odogwublog.com reports that Oba Emelie Okika, a
maritime business mogul and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) aspirant for
Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency is saddened by the spate of
killings in Nigeria particularly last weekend’s mass killing in Plateau state.
He is therefore joining well-meaning
Nigerians to mourn with the government and people of Plateau State over the
crisis in the state which had claimed eighty six lives on Sunday 24th June
2018.
According the APGA
chieftain who spoke to press men in Awka. 'Human life is sacred and should be
protected above every other acquisitions. No matter the provocations lives of
persons are not to be used in settling matters'.
Going further Oba Emelie
Okika said: ‘’ I sympathise with the
government and people of Plateau. I also
pray for the repose of the dead while urging Federal Government to be proactive
and prevent these killings especially the clashes between farmers and herdsmen
sweeping over the North Central region. Our security agencies must raise to the
challenges so as to save human lives".
He also urged Nigerians to work for peace and
justice by accepting and accommodating one another irrespective of their
tribes, religion and social affiliation.
Farmers and herdsmen
crisis has continued to claim lives in different parts of the country with the
latest been the death of over eighty six persons in three local government
councils of Plateau State.
