Okorocha denies dissolving Local Government Transition Committee in Imo state

www.odogwublog.com reports that Governor Rochas Okorocha has denied dissolving the Transition Committee local government committee members of the 27 councils, saying it is spewed by enemies of his government.

Okorocha made the disclosure in a statement issued in Owerri, the Imo State capital yesterday, signed by his spokesman, Sam Onwuemodo.

News of the alleged dissolution of the transition committee members had been awash on social media yesterday.

According to Okorocha, committees of the 27 local government areas are still intact, working for the progress of State.

Okorocha said "Local Government Transition Committees are still intact. They have not been dissolved. And if such a development has happened it wouldn’t have come up as rumours. The government would have also informed the public through the right channels".

Further, Okorocha said "the false story of the dissolution of the councils is part of the unfortunate strategies recently adopted by a Coalition of some elite who are not happy with the free education programme of the government and about the monumental achievements of this administration. And they have been working to distract the Governor and the government", the statement read.

The Governor stated that there are standard channels which it uses "to inform the people about its actions and inactions, and does not do so through those who see falsehood as their own strategy", the statement read.

The Governor appealed to everyone to disregard the alleged dissolution as well as such lies when they are churned out by people he said uses falsehood as a strategy.
