The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of
Biafra (MASSOB) have disassociated ourselves, movement and name from the
purported celebration of 51 years anniversary of Biafra on May 22, 2018.
We can never change the ordinances of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the leader of Biafra nation. Ojukwu declared the Republic of Biafra with the total consent and full support of the elders and the people of Biafra on May 22, 1967.
We can never change the ordinances of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the leader of Biafra nation. Ojukwu declared the Republic of Biafra with the total consent and full support of the elders and the people of Biafra on May 22, 1967.
MASSOB have no
intention or plan to observe our fatherland anniversary celebration on any
other date except on May 30th because May 30th is sacrosanct and sacred to the
history and lives of Biafra Republic. The ordinances of our great leader,
General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu must be jealousy and eloquently adhered to,
any attempt to change it by disgruntled persons will be strictly resisted.
Though MASSOB understand that the leadership of Biafra
Independence Movement (BIM) led by Ralph Uwazuruike were erroneously quoted as
MASSOB, are planing to observe Biafra day on May 22nd instead of May 30th, this
is deceiving, distorting and taunting of the sacred name of Biafra and astute
disobedience to the ordinances of Our great leader, General Chukwuemeka
Odumegwu Ojukwu. Any celebration on May 22nd is not Biafra day anniversary but
memorial of hoisting of Biafra flag at Faulks road, Aba on May 22, 2000 which
is now 18 years. There is a great difference between 51years and 18 years. All
self acclaimed leaders of Biafra or Igbo nation who opposes or ignored or
reduced or belittled Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu's ordinances or even outrightly
subject or tries to change the orders of our great leader, General Chukwuemeka
Odumegwu Ojukwu is an unrepentant enemy of Biafra and her statues.
MASSOB will observe
the May 30th Biafra day in a unique form. There will be a candle night
procession called holy vigil on the night of May 29th with a team of Christian
clergymen coming from Europe, Igbo clergymen, Jewish priests from direct
descendants of Gad, the 5th son of Israel and traditional Igbo native priests
to celebrate with Biafrans on the night of the great Passover. On 30th May, the
members of all pro Biafra groups and entire people of Biafra will converge in a
stadium for the Biafra anniversary convention where two reputable professors
from two highly respected high institutions will deliver speeches on Biafra and
her glorifications.
The May 30th anniversary convention will also attract
notable Biafra leaders from Ikot Ekpene, Ijaw, Igbo and calabar. There shall be
a special prayers and supplication for the fallen Biafra heroes during the
Nigeria --Biafra war and our comrades that were killed by Nigeria security
agents including the people of Biafra that died in the hands of Islamic Boko
Haram and Fulani herdsmen.
In spirit of brotherhood and Biafranism, MASSOB will collaborate with other Pro
Biafran groups that have unanimously agreed and resolved to jointly observe,
commemorate and celebrate the 51 years anniversary of Biafra declaration by our
foremost leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu on 30th May, 2018.
There will be a candle night procession on the night of 29th
May. The people of Biafra all over the world are enjoined to observe the candle
night prayers in their respective homes if they can not participate in the holy
procession. This year's anniversary will be celebrated by the people of Biafra
not as a pro Biafra group, it is a mark of respect and honour to our father
land, it is also a reminder to the visions and commandments of our great
ancestors that we are not Nigerians but Biafrans. We enjoin our people to get
ready for the celebration of this great
anniversary which we will hold to remind ourselves to continue the self
determination movement for Biafra actualization and restoration.
