 APC AND THE MOLES WITHIN BY CHIEF MODESTUS UMENZEKWE

The successful Ward and Local Government Congress in APC is an act of God. This is because of the rethink of Mr. President in a decision he took in February 2018 with the National Executive Council of APC and National Working Committee of APC by extending the tenure of the National Chairman and other officers by one year; was later reversed by the same NEC and NWC for the good of the party thereby curtailing seeming incessant court actions. With that very last change and subsequent appeal of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole jolted certain moles that planted themselves in the party. You see all over the country there has been one induced crises in the party and the party is highly sought by so many in order to take position for authority because of the leadership of the party. Take for instance at APC Ekiti State, over 36 aspirants appeared scrambling to get that Governorship position. That scrambling alone is a clear manifestation of the height the APC has been rated. But the oppositions had only two or three candidates showing that they are nothing to write home about. Those people that scattered our first Congress are some of these moles the oppositions had planted into the party all over the country.

The success of these two Congresses is an evidence of our Presidential success all over the country. President Muhammadu Buhari is now rated very, very high. There are so many things Buhari’s declaration of doing the second round has done to certain people. That his declaration is so worrisome to some people. Some people both within and outside the party are not comfortable because President Muhammadu Buhari travelled last week for a medical check-up which he was unable to do before he went to U.S. on a most successful visit. That successful visit of Mr. President had again jolted the opposition into so many fears; and the reason of Mr. President travelling to London to attend the meeting of the Common Wealth and heads of government, the success of that very meeting of the Common Wealth led to the success of his meeting with President Trump. I think the outcome of the meeting with President Trump might have led to the present position of America by relocating her Headquarter from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem. And I know Nigeria’s Embassy in Israel will move to Jerusalem this time. Those criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari for making a technical stopover on his way back home suppose to know that wherever the President is, is where the presidential cabinet is located as it is practiced all over the world. So for him that technical stopover in London is unquestionable. Mr. president who promised of coming back to visit Jigawa State cut short of his scheduled time in London by one day had shown the cynics that the President know what he is doing. In all, the States that had unexpected crises must watch it and nip that in the bud. In Anambra State, stakeholders involvement led by the IGBO LEADER CHRIS NWABUEZE NGIGE, the leader of the party in Anambra had nipped such unexpected uprising in the bud. Such would have been what other states should emulate. We pray that this expected National Convention of our great party APC will throw in His Excellency Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman and our expectation in 2019 general elections will come to fulfillment.
