Nawfia Archdeaconry Women empower 10 members, warn members against stress

KOSISOCHUKWU BELU reports that the 4^th Nawfia Archdeaconry Women’s conference with theme ‘’We walk by Faith not by Sight’’ 2 Cor. 5:7’’ has ended at St Michael an All Angels’ Anglican Church , Nawfia , Njikoka local government area , Awka diocese , Anambra state with a charge on women to ensure they live a stress free life despite the numerous challenges in the society.

Ten women were empowered with resources to support their businesses through balloting even as others particularly widows in their large numbers received gifts like soap etc from the Nawfia Archdeaconry women.  

Delivering her address , the Vice President, Nawfia Archdeaconry , Nneora Nkiru Ofili encouraged Christians to manage their time and life well to avoid too much stress that is dangerous to their health.

She advised that excessive demands and challenges placed on the body could be reduced and managed to reduce stress even as she pointed out some causes of stress to include major life challenges, relationship difficulties , working long hours and being unhappy at work place among other things.

Nneora Ofili encouraged Christian mothers to ensure that they embrace working by faith and rather be pessimistic with happenings in life , one should trust God more after challenges since Christians walking with Christ Jesus by faith and not by sight.

 She reminded that the women had supported Church building with a million naira and  recently 7 women were empowered with N20,000 each to support their business even as wrappers were shared to those who can’t afford it. She said 80 widows were given N1,000 each and tubers of yam.

She said they have been raising resources for the sick and less privileged as well as visitation to orphanages and hospitals as well as schools like Queens Convent Awka with tubers , a bag of beans and rice as well as groundnut oil and garri.

Wife of the Anglican Bishop of Awka and President of Mothers Union/ Women Guild and Girls Guild , Diocese of Awka praised the Nawfia Archdeaconry Vice President Mrs Nkiru .A Ofili for being a great mobilizer of women , urging her not to relent for the good of the women, the Archdeaconry and the diocese.

Bishop of Awka diocese, Right Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim , PhD led other priests including the vicar Ven Benjamin K Ofili to attend the conference and charged women to always walk by faith in all their endeavours. He encouraged them to assist one another in accordance with the gospel.
