Obiano inaugurates ABS Film Academy, lauds Uche Nworah



www.odogwublog.com reports that Governor Willie Obiano has lauded the management of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS, Awka) led by Nze Uche Nworah for turning the state Radio and Television stations envy of its contemporaries in Nigeria.
 Obiano who inaugurated 30 students of ABS Film Academy said the Nworah management has continued to open doors for new innovations and tasked the students to be unique and compete with the best anywhere in the word.
Obiano’s views were presented by James Eze , his new Chief Press Secretary even as he tasked the management not to rest on its oars.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Managing Director/ CEO of Anambra Broadcasting Service and Rector of the Academy, Nze Uche Nworah said that the Academy, the first in the South East of Nigeria will provide training in various areas of the creative industry including film making, scriptwriting, animation, broadcast journalism etc.

He urged the students to work very hard during their 3-months stay at the academy as the best graduating student will be sponsored for further studies at the New York Film Academy courtesy of an American based development partner and sponsor.
In a goodwill message, the Managing Director of Rockland Development Co. Ltd, Mr. Obi Ene encouraged the students to aspire to create movies that will help place Anambra on the map. He donated the sum of one million Naira to the academy.
Several guests from within and outside the creative industry took turns at the event to encourage the students.
Among the guests are members of ABS Board of Management, Bob-Manuel Udokwu, James Eze (Chief Press Secretary to Governor Willie Obiano), Marcel Manafa (Group MD of Olis Warren Groupand Board Member of ABS, Awka), Oby Okafor (Nollywood actress and Party chairman), Emeka Ozumba (Media Aide to Governor), Mike Meze (Principal Partner, Winning Concepts/Brand Aristotle), Chinedu Nkwonta (Anambra State Publicity Secretary of APGA) and others.
