NOA Leadership tasks Anambra citizens on promotion of good road ethics


www.odogwublog.com reports that the leadership of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in the State, has expressed its preparedness to cooperate with the Federal Road Safety Commission, Anambra State Command on promoting Good Road use Ethics in the state.

This was made known by the State Director of the National Orientation Agency in Awka, Barrister Charles Nwoji, when he led the management team of the Agency on an advocacy visit to the FRSC Sector Commander in the State, Mr. Sunday Ajayi.

The NOA Director, who noted that the essence of the visit was to formalize the discussions he had earlier with the sector commander, maintained that NOA has a lot to do with the Road Safety Commission in area of public enlightenment campaign towards making the general public to key into the propagation of Good Road use Ethics in the State.

While thanking the leadership of the FRSC command in the state for the warm reception accorded them, the NOA Director, equally spoke on the old age relationship between the two sister agencies, assuring that the Agency is ever willing to work with the Road Safety Corps, adding that there is need for the Federal Agencies in the State to work together as peers since they champion the same goals in the society.

Welcoming the new NOA Director in his office, the FRSC Sector Commander in the State, Mr. Sunday Ajayi, called on the leadership of the National Orientation Agency and that of the Command to develop a favourable synergy in surmounting common challenges.

Mr. Ajayi, who said that the FRSC is the leading Agency in Road Safety maintenance in the country, affirmed that NOA and the Command in the State have been working together through the help of the Anambra State Government.

A statement from Obiorah Anthony , the NOA PRO states that Mr Ajayi noted that the work of the Commission needed a team spirit in order to achieve better result in the State, pointing out that the FRSC has developed a driver’s license data base which he pleaded that NOA should join forces with them in propagating it in the State as well as its campaigns on speed limit device, fastening of seat belt and usage of phone while driving, among others.

He said that the issue of the driver’s license data base is compulsory for all while that of the use of phone while driving is giving them a serious concern in the society.

For him, the Deputy Director Programme, Sir. Joseph Uchendu, commended the Sector Commander for upholding the old relationship between NOA and the Road Safety Corps in the State and advocated for deepening the relationship, pleading with the Sector Commander to look into the incessant erection of bumps on roads across the State.
In a vote of thanks, the Sector Command’s Administration Officer, Mr. Chukwuka Eya, warned the people to stop giving money for another person to process driving license for them, but go to the approved centres to process their license and thanked the NOA leadership for deeming the visit necessary.
