Nnewi land tussle: court adjourns hearing

www.odogwublog.com reports that an Nnewi High Court presided over by Hon Justice O. M Anyachebelu has adjourned the Nkwo Nnewi Triangle case to 12 April and 3 May respectively for the defendants' counsel Mrs N J Nwankwo to cross examine the plaintiffs' witness.

This is so because the defendants' counsel had earlier told the court that she was not feeling well as she has a running stomach which would make it impossible for her to cross examine the witness who was already seated in the box.

The the principal witness who was to testify on his capacity as the secretary of Umu-Agbalor the supreme authority of custom and tradition of Nnewi town, affirmed that he had on 8th October 2014 and 18th February 2016 respectively made depositions for the purpose of the case.

The plaintiffs' counsel applied to have the two depositions accepted as exhibits but when it was the turn of the counsel to the defendants Mrs. Nwankwo to cross examine him, she told the court that she was not disposed to do that as she was not well, according to her, she has a running stomach and asked for an adjournment to enable her recover from it and then  do the cross examination.

At that juncture the presiding judge asked the counsel to the plaintiffs Chief (Mrs)AJ Offia (SAN) what she has to say on the matter but she said that she had nothing to say and as such, the court adjourned till 12th April and 3 May.
