Armed robbers terrorize school of Nursing Aba

www.odogwublog.com reports that despite efforts by security agencies in the commercial city of Aba, cases of armed robbery, attempted kidnap and other related crimes has continued to hold sway just as the recent multiple raids of students hostels the  Abia State School of Nursing, Aba  of by armed bandits have been decried by students  of the institution.

 

The school which situates within the vicinity of the Aba Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force, has been raided severally, with residents alleging that  police did nothing.

According our findings, the hoodlums struck at the School of Nursing recently when the students had gone to sleep, harassed and made away with their valuables including phones, wrist watches, gold necklaces, hand chains and cash.

The robbers were said to have attacked the school again the next day and stayed there unchallenged, ransacking luggages of the students even as some of the students, who has become victims of the robbery, were afraid  to speak to the press, insisting that they don’t want to be victimised.

An inside source  who who pleaded anonymity, said they only thank God as none of the students was raped during the robbery incidents.

In the same vein, a security man (Gate man) at the school who do not want his name print, told our reporter that if nothing was done to stop the incessant robbery attacks on the student hostels, they may be considering relocating out of the school’s hostel, which they claimed had become unsafe for them to live.

The security man wondered why the robbers always succeed on their operation despite the fact that the school is located close to the Aba Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force.

Reacting over the reports, The Public Relations Officer of Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH), Aba, Mr. Joe Onwuka, described the robbery incidents as unfortunate, adding that the management of ABSUTH was working out plans to avert a recurrence.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ogbonna Geoffrey could not be reached for comments as the time of filing this report.
