reports that as Anglican Christian mothers all over the World celebrate this
year’s Mothering Sunday, the Vicar Church of the Holy Spirit, Awka, Reverend
Canon Jason O.Z. Onyeakagbusi has said that any marriage without romance in it
is dead on arrival.
In his sermon to mark the 2018 Mega
Mothering Sunday celebration of the Church of the Holy Spirit, Awka at the
Church Compound, (Paul University, Awka), Rev Canon Onyeakagbusi encouraged men
to love, cherish and celebrate their wives always to give room for family
romance in marriage.
He reminded that God made women
wonderful helpmate for men, hence women take so many risks to keep their home
peaceful and progressing, wondering what life would have been like without women.
He as well appealed to mothers/women
to honour their husbands by being exemplary Christian Mothers who rather than
insult and look down on their husbands in time of unfavourable situations, seek
God’s strength to carry the cross in love and support to the husband.
The Church of Holy Spirit Vicar
pointed out that every woman should be a Pastor and a Preacher of the gospel in
her home for better training of their children, adding that mothers should
champion family prayers and good mangers of family’s resources.
He thanked the wife Mrs Uju
Onyeakagbusi , Curate and wife, Rev Udochukwu Jeph and Mrs Obiamaka Okeke ,
Church Teacher, Postulant Eleazer and wife, Arch (Mrs) Ginika Okere as well as
Chairperson 2018 Mega Mothering Sunday Planning Committee, Mrs Joy Amaka
Ezidimma , and her members for a resounding event.
While encouraging mothers to have
the word of God as their pillar, thanked them for being a wonderful creature
and had made life easy for men but charged them not to abandon their primary
responsibility of nursing the home always no matter the economic and social
situations.
‘’…don’t be far from your children.
God said you should not abandon your primary responsibility in the home for a
better society. Please return home and be close to your family and abide by
your nursing responsibilities God has given you. Ensure good family health and
give your family balanced diet for a better life.
He encouraged women to balance
family front and work since God has given them the grace and strength to be
mothers. This he said they can actualize with good planning in order to
continue to brighten up the families as it is their duty so to do.
He further said that women are more
organized in building progressive home, Church and society but lamented that majority
of women have drifted from their God given roles of nursing in the family. He
added that aside God, women’s breast is holding the world peacefully together
sequel to the intake of the first milk (colostrum) known to impact wisdom and
knowledge to the child by mothers.
Vicar’s wife, Nneora Uju
Onyeakagbusi in her address congratulated all mothers of the Church of Holy
Spirit ,Awka informing them that God gave them vintage positon from creation as
mothers which according to her is a place of honour which must be guarded
jealously. She reminded mothers that good Christian values are under
attack by so many forces from pit of hell but that they must not allow their
marriages suffer. She encouraged mothers to rise to their responsibilities even
as she thanked Bishop of Awka Right Reverend Alexander Chibuzor and wife Mrs
Martha Ibezim for their co-operation.
