www.odogwublog.com reports that a new Divisional Police Officer(DPO) Mr Babalola Adewumi(CSP) has been posted to the    Nnewi Central Police Station(CPS)

The new DPO before his transfer to Nnewi, was the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Awada Police Station Onitsha, also in Anambra state.

He takes over from Mr Hassan Musa (CSP) who he been transferred away from the industrial town of Nnewi. 

Mr Adewumi's exploit among other things at Awada Police Station sources said was his ability to checkmate the frequency of car thefts where they were parked in the division by criminals, a thing the people of the area and the police authority were happy about.

Sources said that before he resumed duty at Awada Police Station, car theft was a common occurrence but that he was able to checkmate the hoodlums behind the dastard act.

Meanwhile, the new Nnewi Central Police Station boss in a chat with journalists in his office yesterday assured the people of Nnewi and visitors to the town that they could go to sleep with their two eyes closed as he and his men were ready to make the town crime free for them to carry their legitimate businesses and activities without fear.

He however advised criminals and people of questionable characters in the town to turn a new leaf or leave the town as reign would make the division unbearable and inhabitable for them if they chose to remain in the town.

The new DPO urged the people in his division to support making useful information available to the police noting that security of lives and properties is a collective responsibility.
