www.odogwublog.com reports that an
Nnewi High court has adjourned hearing and cross examination of
PW2 in the matter between the Anambra state governor, the state Attorney
General and Pharmacist Reuben Oknongwu and others for Nnewi over the
ownership of Nkwo-Nnewi land.
The
defense counsel, N.J Nwankwo was not in the court matter when called up
for hearing but the judge, Hon Justice O. M. Anyachebelu stepped down

two other cases were heard, the government lawyer, Nwankwo appeared and
apologized that the date was not reflected in her diary. She also
claimed to have some health issues but expressed her determination to
carry on with the matter.
When
the PW2, Chief Boniface Obi was called out for cross examination, the
counsel to the state government showed some signs of fatigue and the
judge promptly asked her to apologize to the Nnewi legal team and ask
for adjournment.
The
head of the Nnewi legal team, Chief A. J. Ofia(SAN) after yesterday's
hearing ruled out the possibility of the government lawyers adopting a
delay tactics. She however said that there is need for cost to be
awarded for the inconvenience caused her team.
Meanwhile
the legal tussle which started in 2014 when the state government
allegedly took over the Nkwo-Nnewi ancestral land would continue on 30th
January 2018.
