www.odogwublog.com reports that the
Joint Council of Provinces and Diocese East of Niger of Anglican
Communion has called for immediate implementation of the recommendations
of the 2014 National Conference convoked by the former president, Dr
Goodluck Jonathan.
This
call was part of the welcome address of the Dean Emeritus, Church of
Nigeria,(Anglican Communion) and Chairman, Joint Council of Provinces
East of Niger, during a meeting which held
in Nnewi, Anambra state today.
Archbishop
Kattey noted that Nigeria is blessed in many significant ways with
abundant human and natural resources with a lot of potential that if
fully utilized and explored would make the nation an eldorado.
He
pointed out that the National Conference put up by the former president
made up of over four hundred prominent Nigerians drawn from every
strata of the country brainstormed and came up with a report with far
reaching recommendations.
The
prelate said that the decisions and resolutions of the 2014 National
Conference are believed to the answers to most, if not all the
socio-economic, political and religious agitations and problems of the
nation.
Archbishop
Kattey expressed worry that the incumbent administration said it has
nothing to do with recommendations like the practice of true fiscal
federalism, power devolution and restructuring the system.
He
pointed out that it has become imperative for the President Muhammadu
Buhari's led administration to have a rethink as prominent Nigerians
like the national leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC) Asiwaju
Ahmed Tinubu have bought into the recommendations of the 2014
conference.
