CROSSRIVER ON RAMPAGE!!! AS DOCTORS SHUT DOWN GOVERNOR’S OFFICE, DISRUPT OFFICIAL FUNCTIONS OVER KIDNAP…SEE

Christian Rowland Reporting live for ODOGWU MEDIA....Medical Doctors in Cross River State have shut down governor’s office, disrupting government functions for several hours.
The Doctors protesting the kidnap of their member, Dr Emem Udo, said that public, private and mission hospital will remained closed until Dr Udo is released by her abductor.

Speaking at the Governor’s office on Wednesday, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Medical Association, (NMA) Cross River State branch, Dr Ernest Ochang said, “We are not embarking on strike but sit at home for safety, we are only downing tools and sitting at home.

“One of us was kidnap on the 26th Dec but was released. Another one was abducted. That means they are listening, that means somebody somewhere is listening and controlling them.

“Just that day we rescinded our decision to sit at home, another one was kidnap and as at yesterday 1pm when we rose from our meeting, all the Hospitals from Obanliku to Bakassi are closed, both private and government as well as mission hospitals are closed.

“They will remain shut until Dr Emem Udo is release to us and any other day a Doctor or relations is picked, we will shut down Hospital summarily without notification.

“If litmus test is use to measure the performance of government, when it come to security, the safety of her citizens, if we are not safe it therefore means the government has failed that litmus test and we dare say that this government for now has failed us.

“But it has opportunity to redeem itself and that is by bringing Doctor Emem today and if they bring Doctor Emem today, work will start, but until then, everybody in Cross River State who wants to seek medical attention should go to neighbouring states” he stated.

He said, “Hospitals, both public, private and mission will remain close for security reason. For now, our lives are at stake and we realised that Doctors are being targeted.

”You know our salaries, we are not rich but please we are registering with government if after today, Dr Emem is not released, we will take over governor’s office, Police Headquarters and DSS,” Dr Ochang emphasized.
